Nina was born as Elene Tugushi, in Tsibili, Georgia, in 1914. Her parents were both intellectuals and they expected their daughter to do the same.
Young Elene was more interested in the outdoors, cooking, and sewing, and frequently went to the woods to escape. That is where she was on Feburary 25th, 1921, when her town was attacked by Russians. She met Janie, a young time traveler, and they were away from home for days. When she returned, everything was different. Her town was now under the control of Russians.
Over the next decade, she spent time with her time traveler friend, and tried to rebel against the parents that wanted to teach her in secret. Her world was ripped from her again when her Mother and Father were 'purged' in 1937. She wasn't home at the time and has regretted it ever since.
Her friend took her away, to another world, where she moved on and found a new identity. She fell in love and married, and had one child. A war tore that world apart and she lost her family once again. She moved in with her friend and lived happily for many years, even stopping a war, then her friend left with no notice. That is where she is today.
